The Challenge:
The brand new OCOM building in Winter Garden, showcasing modern glass and architecture, has a lobby with floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Due to Southern elevation and direct sun exposure, the interior lobby experienced excessive glare and elevated heat gain which made the entire space very uncomfortable for staff and students. Building management looked for a commercial window film in order to reduce heat gain and control excessive glare. Part of the challenge was to safely maneuver a man lift inside the lobby and around the interior steel beams in order to reach the high top window panels.
The Solution:
TintXperts was the commercial window tint company chosen for this project. TintXperts successfully installed Evening View 15 (XPEL), a sun control window film, on all lobby panels. This sun control window film reduces glare by 85% while rejecting 82% of Infrared heat and 65% of Total Heat. In order to reach all interior panels safely, an interior 30′ electric man lift was used. To prevent floor damage, TintXperts protected the lobby floors with plywood sheets. The project resulted in significantly improved comfort levels inside the lobby, with management and employees extremely happy with the outcome.
